Kaz Dunstan
Personal Bio:
My name is Kaz Dunstan, I'm currently 15 years of age, and I live in a middle class family in North Carolina. The first time my interest in film really sparked, was when I was younger and had watched an animated movie called Rango. 5 years ago for my 10th birthday, my parents bought me a cheap camcorder and ever since then I've had a passion for videography and photography. Currently, I have 5 years of camera experience, have done two paid jobs, and am now networking to get more jobs and experience working in the industry. My main goal in life right now is to eventually become a big-time film director and change Hollywood for the better. I hate how oversaturated modern Hollywood is; pushing out low-quality, low-effort "movies" made only for the purpose of pushing political agendas. There is a severe lack of passion and pride in the industry and most big studios choose profit over artistic merit. Also to clarify, I'm not saying that political messages in film are a bad thing far from it really, but I believe that there is a thin line between propaganda and art. The subtleness of art is what really makes it art. If you're just pushing your message right into the audience's face, it's really just lazy writing. I want an artistic renaissance to happen in the film industry so people can really appreciate art in film and not just lazy cash grabs to watch and turn your mind off to. There are many great directors that actually put passion into their work like Quinten Tarantino or Edgar Wright just to name 2. I hope that my work does contribute in the long run even if everything turns out to be pointless. If I do make it, I will be forever grateful and owe a lot of it to the people that helped me get there.
